Computer Resources Form

PISA 2022

Your school will be participating in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which is a computer-based assessment and part of the National Assessment Program (NAP).

The questions in this form relate to the computer resources in your school.  The answers to these questions will be collated by the PISA Project Team at ACER to determine the optimal way for the PISA test to be administered at your school.

The PISA assessment is delivered through a self-contained set of applications called the PISA Student Delivery System (SDS).  It is configured to work on computers and laptops running Windows or Mac operating systems.  It is also configured to run on Chromebooks with a Google for Education (Google Admin console) account.  Tablets/iPads cannot be used for the PISA administration.

For Windows and Macs, the PISA SDS is intended to run from a local hard drive (preferred method) or a USB drive:

  • Local hard drive method: Prior to the assessment day, the IT Coordinator downloads the PISA SDS from the ACER Cloud and installs the SDS on the hard drive of the computers/laptops of the sampled students only.  On the day of the assessment, the Test Administrator will launch the PISA assessment in readiness for students to begin the test.  After students have completed the assessment, the student response data will be uploaded to the Cloud.  The Test Administrator will advise the IT Coordinator when the PISA SDS can be deleted.

  • USB drive method: On the day of the assessment, the Test Administrator will bring USB drives (one per student), containing the PISA SDS, with them to the school, and will launch the PISA assessment in readiness for students to begin the test.  After students have completed the assessment, the student response data will be uploaded onto the Cloud.

For Chromebooks with Google for Education accounts:

  • Prior to the assessment day, the IT Coordinator will need to sign into their Google Admin console and install the PISA 2022 app on the devices of the sampled students only.  On the day of the assessment, the Test Administrator will launch the PISA assessment in readiness for students to begin the test.  After students have completed the assessment, the student response data will be automatically uploaded to the secure PISA server.
